Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Melt Values

Question
Hi..I have well over a pound of .999 fine silver. I was wondering what the melt value would be on them or perhaps you could tell me how to figure it up so I know what they would be worth on an auction ? Thanks Carolyn

Answer
Hi Carolyn,

As you probably know, bullion values change by the minute for gold and silver when the markets are open.  A good place to see current values for silver is:  http://www.kitco.com/market/  The bid price is basically melt value but most melters buy silver for under bid because of the time and effort involved.
