Question
I work at a restuarant and recieved a misprint dollar coin as a tip. I was told it was worth up to six-hundered dollars. The wording around the side of the coin is printed upside down and the date says 1789-1797. Is this coin really worth money or just a scam?

Answer
Hi Megan,
I need more info.
Maybe I am wrong but I think what you have is one of the new George Washington dollars.  If this is the case, the lettering around the edge of the coin is of no consequence if it up upside down or right side up.  The mint did not do it one way of the other on purpose when the pressed the edge lettering.  The date 1789-1797 would have been the years Washington served as president.
If this is not the same coin, please provide more info.
If it is a Geo. Washington dollar as described, it is only worth $1.
