Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Morgan Dollar

Question
I found a 1921 gold Morgan dollar.  Is this worth anything or just a pretty coin?

Answer
Hello Dona,

There were no gold Morgan Dollars made.
Yours may have been plated with gold this decreases the value to a collector. Altered coins have value only as a novelty.
Also being made of 90% silver it can tone with a golden or light brown hue depending on how it was stored over the years.

Depending on how worn the coin is and without being plated it is valued from $11 in grade-4 (Good) to $18 in Almost Uncirculated (Grade-50).

Thank You and Good Luck
