Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Need US Coin ID

Question
I have 2 American Silver Dollars, they have the Morgan
Dollar "head" with "liberty" printed on it..however they
are NOT dated and on the reverse side it shows, at the
top..a single star, above a ribbon, above a balance scale.
The only printing on it is, from top to bottom "One Troy
Ounce"  "311 Grams"  "999 Fine Silver".

I have searched online but cannot find this particular
coin anywhere.  Any information about it's nature and
worth would be appreciated.

Also, I am trying to sell an unappraised coin collection,
American silver "dollars" going back to 1795 to the early
1900's, but am new to this...what is the best way to get
the coins "graded and appraised" and then sold?

Thanks in Advance

Answer
Hi Ken,

The first two "Morgan" coins are not actually dollars.  They are privately minted silver rounds, used to buy and sell bulk silver.  Their value is based only on the silver they contain -- currently about $12.00 each.

As for appraising your dollar collection, check www.coinshows.com and www.coinworld.com for listings of coin shows in your area, where you can take the collection to be looked at by a few of the dealers at the show.  This will give you a good idea of its value, and you can then sell it to a dealer or put it on eBay.

I hope this helps,

Dan

I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.
