Question
I found a nickel at my store in a bank roll that was copper colored.  Can you tell me is this common and where do I go to find out if it is worth anything?  Thanks

Answer
Hi,

Your coin could be a genuine Mint error known as "missing outer clad layer".  If it was authenticated it might be wroth $50-200 or so depending upon the coins condition.  It would need to be seen in person by a coin dealer.  Many towns have one listed in the phone book.
