Question
We have a collected penny that was letf in a old abandoned
house in norther minnesota. is a 1979 double struck penny the2nd strike is a clear strike showing the lower half of lincoln and the date. is the worth anything?   Thanks.

Answer
Hello, Anthony, though I am no expert at error coins, I believe that double strike coins are possible and do happen, are available and sell for a slight premium depending on how the piece looks.  I would suggest that you go to www.ebay.com and do a search for double struck cent and then maybe also for double strike cent (I just did this and saw some examples).  You should see some double strikes for sale and the prices they are selling at.  Each double strike is a bit different (how much is double struck etc) so that it could be that each is valued differently.  You might want to try similar searches at www.google.com to see what error dealer websites you come across.  Hope this helped, Jim Lawniczak
