Coin and Paper Money Collecting/Quarters

Question
I have been saving quarters for 8 years just as a way to save $$ not as in collecting.  At this point I have them separated into 1950's,60's, 70's etc.  Before I cash them in, I was wondering if there were any rare, special, or unusual quarter year that I should save before cashing in.  Thank you!  Linda

Answer
Hi Linda,
Well, first off, any quarters dated 1964 or before are 90% silver.  Those from 1965 to present are copper-nickel and only worth face value.
In the 1950's and 60's there no rare dates.  They trade for their silver value whihc now is about $2 each so don't just bring them to a bank, bring them to a coin dealer.  Hw ill probably offer $1.50 or $1.75 each
