The $20 coin Blake & Co that was made in 1855, I read the answer , but did not give me a hint if it is worth anything or not. The coin is gold, has SMA (picture) .900 and the year 1855 and around the coin it reads SAC Califfornia Gold dolls 20 and on other side it has 20 dollars in the middle w/ press circles around it then on the outside of the circles it has BLAKES & CO press dots then ASSAYSERS

My husband and I have two of these coins as well, dated 1855.  I would be interested in finding out if you sent your pictures and the reply as well.

I RECENTLY CAME ACROSS A BLAKE & CO. ASSAYERS COIN WITH THE 20 IN THE MIDDLE SMV 900 THE DATE 1855 MY MOTHER KEPT IT IN A DEPOSIT BOX FOR YEARS BEYOND THAT IT IS A MYSTERY TO ME

I have the same coin, but on the (backside?) on either side of the "20" are a pair of hand stamped 'G'. I noted that none of the above descriptions mentioned this 'G'. Both of the 'G's were stamped hard enough to actually raise the surface on the (front) of the coin. Anyone else have these letters on their coins?

Another thing I noticed on my coin is; on the (front) of the coin where it says '20 DOLLARS'.... the '20' on mine looks to be stamped into the coin, rather than being of raised characters.

I also have one of these coins.  I found in while digging when I was a child.  I am sure mine is not real but would still like to find information on it.

Yes i have one of these BLAKE & CO ASSAYERS COINS dated 1855  with a SMV  .900  on one side and 20  stamped in the middle of the other side but it only weighs 11 grams  also if you look real close you might see right after  CO. in small print  where it says   copy

I also have the exact same coin. Its been in my family for probably a hundred years and I just happened to find it in my grandmothers old coin purse. How would I go about finding out if it is real or not.

I actually have one from a really old coin collection as well. Im not sure how they came to this collection but there were three of them in a little box. The description from the question matches my coin as well. Im pretty sure these coins are valuable.
