Question
I have a Morgan Dollar Coin of 1888 with a mint mark of CC. Is this genuine? How much does this cost?
Hi Kenneth,
If it has a date of 1888 and a CC mintmark, then it's definitely a fake.
It has either been privately minted -- like a lot of fakes coming out of China these days -- or the 3 in the date has been altered, or the CC has been added to the back.
It has no collector value, and is actually illegal to sell as genuine.
