Question
I have a 1819 polish gold coin 50 z lot mint no IB. What can you tell me about this coin and value. If you do not know can you suggest where I can find information on this coin.

Thank You

Answer
Dear Karen. What you have is a Polish coin issued under the Russian Czar Alexander I (1815-1825) when Poland was occupied by the Russians. The were made for three years, 1817-1819, in two varities, Straight milling and Oblique milling on the edge. It would have the head of Alexander on the obverse and the coat of arms of Alexander on the reverse. They are a popular coin, as all Russian issued coins are, and are worth between $200 and $2000, depending on condition, or how new the coin is. Do NOT clean this coin. Enjoy it the way it is. To get an exact value a professional numismatist will need to see it. Regards. N.
