Question
Its a thick gold coin. A little bigger than the quarter. On the front it has some writing "OMHPOX" with a picture of a man who looks like a Greek god. Back, it says "EAAHNIKH AHMOKPATIA" 1990 50 "APAXMES". Can you guess what it is and how much its worth..
Hello, Samantha, sounds like you have a modern Greece coin from 1990. Apaxmes is Greek like our cent. Go to www.ebay.com and do a search for 1990 Greece coin and one with a sailing boat is pictured there, selling for a couple dollars (no bidders yet). I think your coin has been demonitized because Greece in on the Euro. Hope this helped, Jim Lawniczak
