Question
How much would a 1888 USA one cent indian head coin be worth? thank you

Answer
Natalie, the value of an 1888 Indian head U.S. cent depends very much on condition.  It can vary from less than a dollar if in fairly poor shape or very worn, to hundreds of dollars if in pristine condition, as minted.  Most well circulated coins from this era are worth a dollar or so.  Please keep in mind that you can't do anything to improve the condition of your coin, by rubbing or cleaning it.  Anyone interested in buying your coin will be able to tell and will discount substantially for a rubbed or cleaned coin.

Go to www.ebay.com and do searches for 1888 cent and 1888 penny and you should see lots of examples for sale and can look at the pictures to somewhat compare condition, and see what sellers are asking for the pieces and buyers offering.  Jim Lawniczak
