Coin and Paper Money Collecting/mis-printed pennies

Question
My husband has a huge tackle box full of different coins. He has 4 blank pennies. It is obvious they were meant to be pennies by shape and material used. ( material is word hubby used)  He also has one from 1982 that is half printed on both sides. Can you tell us if these are anything of value?
Thank you.
Karen

Answer
Hi Karen,

Your blank pennies are called "blank planchets" and can be authenticated by weighing them.  They are the most common denomination found that is a blank planchet and they usually bring about $4-5 each.  The half printed one is hard to tell but it could be weakly struck or struck through grease....both errors also.
