QuestionQUESTION: i opened a brand new package of guaters and one of them looks like it was mis printed or it was off centerd in the machine because it is bent would it be worth doing anything about it
ANSWER: Hello, I am not sure what you mean by you opened up a brand new package of quarters. Was this a proof set or a mint set or a roll? I am also not sure what you mean by the quarter is bent. There are off center strikes and they have some value, but they do not result in the piece being bent. A bend is most likely done after the minting process and would not have value. An off center strike would have some value. Go to www.google.com and do a search for off center strike quarter and you should see some examples and information. Quarter off center strikes are rarer than smaller coins and thus can have substantial value. It all depends on how off center it is and whether the date is still showing. Hope this helped, Jim Lawniczak

QUESTION: you can see where the guarter was off struck at the mint we have look at it with a magnife glass you can see where off struck but it is bent it came off of a new roll of guarter in the plastic rap it is the new washington guarter i will try to take a picture of it and send it to you
AnswerI would recommend that you show the piece to an expert in error coins. You should be able to find one at a coin shop or at a coin show in your area. Go to www.google.com and do a search for your city (or nearest big city) and coin show; and then the same with coin shop (example -- "Chicago coin show" and you should get some information where to go. It sounds possibly interesting (and interesting is what makes things have value, because other people want what's interesting), but I have a hard time imagining how it could have been bent in the minting process.
