Coin and Paper Money Collecting/miss stamped

QuestionI founf a denver mint 2000 dime that is miss struck-about 1/8 in off to the right as you look at the face. Worth anything more than a dime? It looks like it was just minted little use.
AnswerHello Jim,
Are both sides of the coin off-center in the same direction?
This Off-Center strike type is valued by how far off center the image is, and I know you get a bit more if the date is showing.
10% off is not much but on a round coin it looks drastic. A well struck specimen 50% off center sold for $20, Yours may only range from $1 to $4 depending on the buyer.
This is a common error in off center coins, you need it to grossly break out of the rim for the top money.
For more information on errors look for the "The ERROR COIN ENCYCLOPEDIA" by Arnold Margolis.
I also want to mention COMBINED ORGANIZATION of NUMISMATIC ERROR COLLECTORS ASSOCIATION, they are the ultimate experts in the error coin field.
CONECA is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Re-punched mint marks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers just like yours to name a few.
