I have a 1942 S US Wartime Silver nickel..
on the back were it says"  FIVE CENTS " THE e IS MISSING IN THE ... C NTS ... WORD..WHAT DO YOU THINK? IS IT WORTH SOME $$$$...THANK YOU COIN IS IN GOOD TO VERY GOOD SHAPE -
I THINK...IT WAS NEVER STAMPED OR RASIED- MISSING

Hi Max,
it is probably just wear on that spot of the coin.  To my knowledge, there are no reported errors of missing "E" from those coins.

OK.  The only other thing that I can think of is that there was grease in the die when the coin was struck. But you say the coin is in "good" to VG condition, that is a very low grade and it would make it hard to discern what caused the missing E
