Coin and Paper Money Collecting/new dollar coins

Question
Hi are the new gold dollar coins worth anything with the spelling printed upside down? they seem fairly popular and easy to find.

Answer
Hello Amanda,

If you are referring to the edge lettering I have not seen any hard evidence from the mint about which is correct.
Many people have found them to be "up-side-down" so they seem to be common. And I do not see a huge demand for having one of each kind.
The mint is again counting on many people keeping the coins as collectors items. There seems like an artificial mark-up on what will be a common coin.
