Question
I found a coin under the carpet in a very old houe. The coin appers to be copper. It is in excellent condition. It is the size of the old silver dollars. No numeric value. It says United States Mint, Denver, Colorado on the front with picture of the mint. On the back it says the Department of the Treasury 1789 with scales, shield and a key, with thirteen stars. We can't find anything. Can you help?

Answer
Hi Ray,
What you have is a Denver Mint Commemorative Medal depicting the mint seal and date of inception of the US Treasury.
It isn't a coin, but a medal.  I have seen these in the past trade for about $10 however, check on eBay for similar items for a current value.
