Coin and Paper Money Collecting/olden penny

Question
Hi I've recently attained a golden penny. I have looked around and spotted some stories of a 1991 and a 2000 coin with the same features as mine but the year on this penny says 1978 and its in great shape looks like a brand new golden dollar if you will, it has all the normal features of a penny and not one hint of mistakes on it so if you have any ideas on this please help me find a solution to this.

Appreciate your time, Anthony S.

Answer
Anthony, there is no way that a "golden" penny could have been made at the mint.  The most likely explanation is that your cent was painted, or coated, after it was minted.  Try going to www.ebay.com and doing searches for golden cent or golden penny or painted penny etc. and see what comes up, Jim Lawniczak
