Coin and Paper Money Collecting/pennies

Question
I have a penny that has part of the back of a penny imprinted on Lincolns head-is this unusual?

Answer
Hi Jan,
Yes it is unusual.  Without seeing the coin, it sounds like the coin was struck with "clashed dies" meaning that the dies came  together without a planchet (coin blank) between them.  Hence, the dies picked up part of the image from the other die.
I do not specialize in error coins so I really can't tell you what it is worth.
