Question
Would a penny with a date of 1974 and an S under the date and an inital on the back beside the building that is FG be worth any money if so how much?

Answer
Hello, Adolfo, sounds like what you have is a US 1 cent piece 1974S.  FG was the designer of the memorial reverse (which started being produced in 1959) and appears on all US Lincoln cents starting with 1959.  The 1974S is fairly common and so has no value above face unless it is in really excellent uncirculated shape.  You may want to go to www.ebay.com and do a search for 1974S cent and another for 1974S penny and see who is selling one of these and look at the scan if there is one (there may not be).  Or try the same search on www.google.com.  Hope this helps, Jim Lawniczak
