Question
I have a old washington quarter I've had it for years I got it out of a change machine and tried to put it in a coke machine for a coke but it wouldn't fit, it's to fat. I put it away with all the rest of my coins and it has been sitting for 20 yrs. LOL >>>IT'S ALMOST TWICE AS THICK AS OTHER QUARTERS<<< have you ever heard of that? I don't know how they could have made this mistake. Who would know what its worth ?  david

Answer
Hi david,
Can't say I have ever heard of something like that.  The us mint is pretty precise when they mint coins.  You may want to contact the American Numismtic Assoc. regarding having the coin inspected.  They are located in Colorado Springs,CO
