Question
my mom was wondering about a george washington gold dollar  that she thought was a misprint. it does not say " In God We Trust" on the front but does say it on the outter rim what should i tell her?

Answer
Hello Mark,

This is not a misprint. The normal Motto's, Date and Mint Marks were moved to the edge of the coin on the presidential dollar series.
There are 4 Presidents issued each year as well as the Sacagawea dollar coin that is issued with the normal front and back.
Some are read with the face side up and some with the face side down, some people are saying this is an error but the mint is not exercising any control over the edge lettering process. So they are considered different varieties of the same coin.
