Question I have an odd looking Roosevelt dime.
1988D
It appears to be almost gold in appearance.
Extremely bright finish unlike any Roosevelt Dime I've seen.
Any opinion?
Thanks much
Answer Hi John,
If the coin is gold in color it could either be gold plated or is missing the outer clad layer. the Missing clad layer is an error coin while the gold plated was done outside the mint and has no extra value. The missing clad layer error would have to b e confirmed in person by a coin dealer who could look at the piece in hand. Depending upon the condition it might be worth anywhere from $10-70 or more.
