Coin and Paper Money Collecting/selling coins

Question
I have just finished catologing some coins my brother had.  I have Proof Sets, Uncirculated Sets, Commemoratives, Bicentennials etc., Morgan, Peace & Eisenhowers Silver Dollars & more.  Trouble is some of the envelopes the Proofs & Uncirculated coins came in are not in the best shape.  A local Coin Shop isn't interested.  They are too common.  How can I easily sell them?

Answer
Hi Aud,

Chioice 1)  Find a local coin show and take them there -- you will find multiple dealers that will buy them.  If the packaging is significantly damaged, the prices will be significantly reduced.  Try looking for local shows listed at www.coinshows.com and at www.coinworld.com

Choice 2)  Sell them on eBay.  Group all the proof sets together, all the mint sets together, etc.   Take good pictures of everything -- the more pictures the better.  Start the listings at a low price and let them go where they will.

Good luck!

Expertise

My strong familiarity with all U.S. Mint coins, extensive reference library, and close relationships with many other dealers allows me to identify just about any coin made in the USA. I receive regular updates to all the current price guides -- both wholesale & retail -- to provide accurate values. So, with a good description or pictures, I should be able to identify and value any U.S. coin you have.

Experience

I've been a coin dealer since the 1980's and a coin collector since the 1960's. I specialize in U.S. Silver Coins and have an active online website -- The Working Man's Rare Coins -- http://www.workingmancoins.com -- offering information and inventory in U.S. coins.
