Question
I have a silver coin with no date, its about the size of a silver dollar. It has "LIBERTY" with 7 six pointed stars on the left and 6 on the right, with the bust of a woman facing the right with long hair in the center. the other side is an eagle with a sheild in front of it  holding arrows and a branch in its talons. The words one troy ounce 999 fine silver surround it with stars above its head. Could you tell me what it is and does it carry any worth? Thanks for your time. Tina Smith

Answer
Hi Tina,

The design sounds like a early US silver dollar but as soon as you said this:  one troy ounce 999 fine silver

I knew it is not a early U.S. coin.  Your coin is actually a one ounce silver round and was struck by a private mint.  The value is the silver content it contains which would be around $8.00.  I hope this helps.
