hello there brad,
i have been given a spanish coin and would like to know if it has any value. it is dated 1836 and in fairly good condition apart from a i cannot make out the letter which is marked below as a question mark. on the side on the head the inscription is isabel 2 porla g?de de dios 1836. on the reverse there is a crest divided into four sections by what looks like flowers or leeks. inside each section there is either a tower or lion. this crest is in the middle of coin. around the outside of coin it is inscribed espanas reyna de lan.

Hi Geraldine, I assume this Spanish coin of Queen Isabel II (1833-68) is copper? What is its size? The letter, number and any symbol at the bottom of the coin where the towers and lions are are also needed to provide more info. If you have pictures you can email them to me at tbirde@psknet.com. Collector value of a coin depends on date, mint mark (if any), number minted and condition of a coin, including amount of wear, any dents, scratches or cleaning as well as collector demand for it. You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
