Coin and Paper Money Collecting/no subject

Question
Hi.  My son recently found a "silver" penny in his tip jar.  I know that 1943 pennies were "silver" (steel or something, I guess), but this penny is a 1977.  I cannot find any information on the internet about "silver" 1977 pennies.  Apparently, there were also "silver" pennies.  Any information would be most appreciated.  Thanks!

Answer
There is a very slight possibility that your cent was struck on a planchet intended for another coin. The current reigning expert on the subject is Fred Weinberg (818 986-3733). You will have to send him the coin, so when you call him send him my regards, Neil Berman.
