Question
I have a us two cent coin with a different obverse design. It has a circle in the middle with a flower design inside it and a 12 pointed star along the outside rim.The other side is a normal two cent design. Any idea what it is ? Thank you.

Answer
It sounds to me that you have a "love token".  Back in the 1800's, suitors would often engrave a design or initials on a coin to be given to a young lady as a sign of affection.

Some pieces can be very elaborate and require much skill.
