Question
Thanks very much Rodger.  I have not heard positive things about the Portland shop you mention below.  I am getting to the point that I will need to ship the insides to someone for the cleaning/maintenance.  Do you do it yourself, or do you refer in Seattle?  And I found my note about the Clackamas repair guy- he was great- John Anderson.  Any possibility you might know where he is?  Jim Wilson- 541-688-0189; vjwilsoniii@msn.com

-----Question-----
I need someone to clean this machine up that I have had since..... 30+ years ago.  There used to be a man outside of Portland Oregon that would clean up these wonderful old machines, but I have lost track of him.
-----Answer-----
Hi Jim,
Yes, I remember him but can't remember his name right now, I think it was Andrews or something. He moved to Las Vegas. I think there is another place in Gresham? Portland. It's A business for old slot machines and juke-boxes called, antique slot machines, you will find it in the phone book under amusement games maybe or ask information. It's between 205 and Gresham, take the Stark Street exit and look for it there. They do repair slots there, or if your up in Seattle "Shoreline" sometime I could help you.
Thank You
Rodger

Answer
Hi Jim,
That is the guy, and he is the one that I was told, that got a divorce and moved to las Vegas somewhere. Yes I do my own work and have a web site at http://www.coinslots.com I do have a job and can only work on these in my spare time. I fixed one for a gal who lives in Portland last year. She dropped it off when she was in town and picked it up down the road on her next trip this way. I haven't had any doings with these slot guys in Oregon, I just knew they were there. I have been working on these slots for years and years, I got my first Mills 50 cent Black Cherry in 1969 which I still have!, and was hooked ever since. I even repair the new ones, if and when they come around. I am also a collector and have several myself. I buy-sell-restore coin operated games, mostly slots when I can and have the time. I just shipped out that Rockola 1448 on my web page, to the new owner in Michigan today.
Thank You
Sincerely
Rodger Knutson

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
