Question
I have a dresser that is stamped with the date 1965 and made by Thomasville I'm waning to know the originals coloring of it and if I have an antique or even if its really a real thomasville or just a knock off. If your able to help in any way it would be wonderful. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Ashley
Nice to hear from you.
Ashley this is a long way from being an antique....I'm older than your dresser LOL
But this dresser will be well made and certainly better than todays furniture.
I see no reason anyone would put a bogus Thomasville stamp on such an item. So if it says made by Thomasville, it no doubt was.
Hope this helps and thanks for a great question.
Kindest Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
