Question I have several thimbles from the early 80's that I plan to sell on E-bay. Of these, I have a couple of Nicholas Gish pewter novelty thimbles (a carousel and Christmas 1983 hinged thimble) and an Irish Dresden purchased in Ireland - beautifully hand-painted with clovers and a mint green "lace" ribbon and bow around the bottom. Any ideas as to what these might be worth and what to ask for?
Thanks!
Answer Hello Amie. I'm don't have much of an interest in contemporary thimbles, I do know that both thimbles that you describe are commonly found. Gish novelty thimbles are collectible and appear on ebay regularly. The same is true of your Dresden thimble. You can search on ebay for those thimbles and track their interest and selling prices to establish a range as to what they are worth and what to ask for them. Good luck with your sale. Barbara
