Question
Eileen,
Can you tell me where I can find Zig/Zag springs and fasteners? I am trying to restore a chair for my parents that has been in the family for a long time. I have been doing searches without much luck.
Any help would be great
 Duane.

Answer
Hi Duane
Nice to hear from you.
These zig zag springs are readily available.
No need to go through mail order.
Any local upholstery shop will sell them to you.
Take an old one for a sample as they cut them from a roll and you need to duplicate the exact number of zigs and zags..no kidding.
They also have to crimp the ends for you so they don't pull from the fasteners which they will supply also.
Not a big expense at all.
Hope this helps
Regards
Eileen

Expertise

I can answer most questions about the repairing and refinishing of all your old furniture items (the things we call antiques). I can also give you advice on what wood items to choose and what wood items to avoid at auctions, flea markets etc. I DO NOT give appraisals on antiques as this is not my field of expertise.

Experience

I have been repairing, refinishing and of course buying old furniture for the past 30 years. On any given weekend I can be found at auction sales or flea markets searching out a good buy. I have taken several courses in this area over the years, but I find "Hands On" learning to be the best teacher. I can help you avoid the pitfalls and problems of this wonderful rewarding craft.
