Question
I have a beaker-shaped mug that is stamped "W.IV" on the side. It has a shallow foot and a scrolled handle.  What can you tell me about it or its value. Thank you for your time.

Answer
-

WIV is a capacity verification mark from the reign of William IV, so, if authentic, dating around 1835, but there are fake verification marks around.

The piece sounds typical of the style of that period, but unmarked pieces were sometimes enhanced with fake marks in the 20th Century.

You don't say what size it is, and don't give an indication of condition, so estimate of value very general: less than 50 pounds / 100 dollars at best, and much less if there are any problems of any kind.
