Expertise
I am able to answer questions on old coin operated machines. These include vending machines such as gumball or peanut or other machines such as trade stimulators that did not dispense a product but were positioned on a store's counter to bring in customers or stimulate trade. I specialize in machines by Pulver, Zeno, and Mansfield and also any old cast iron or wood machines.

Experience
I have been collecting these type of machines for about 10 years and have traveled the country to antique shows and auctions.

Organizations
Coin operated collectors association

Education/Credentials
I have learned about many of these machines from traveling to view the collections of others.

Collectibles-General (Antiques) - D. Gottlieb Pinball

Expert: Tom Novitski - 10/8/2008

Question
We want to insure a pinball machine we have, but have no idea of it's worth.  It is A 5 cent, woodrail, Round Up.  It is in good shape with only a few minor  problems , a couple of bumper rubbers need to be replaced  and a little bit of the back board picture is flaking.  It still lights up and works. It has decals of Bozo the clown on the sides and side of backboard. It is completely wooden, legs side rails back etc. I have all three original balls, and it marked D. Gottlieb & co. on the back glass.  I would like to know how to insure this.  If you could help I would appreciate it

Answer
Hi,
I do not collect pinball machines so I cannot give you a value as to your machine. However, there is a price guide available that should list your machine. It is put out by Mr. Pinball and you can get info on it by just searching on the internet for Mr. Pinball or just pinball price guide.
As for the insurance, there is a company called Collectibles Insurance Services and that is all they do - insure various collectibles.
Thanks for your question and hope that helps.
