Question
Hi Roger, I have been trying for some time to find anything out about an old flipperless Bally Banner I have in the basement.  As best I can learn it's from 30s or 40s.  It's in very good condition maybe excellent.  I believe a minor electrical repair will put back to fully operational.  It does need a top glass.  I also have a Williams Dealers Choice that is/was my favorite as a younger guy.  Anything you can tell about the Banner would be very much appreciated!  Thanks Dennis

Answer
Hi Dennis,

Well, this is a tough one, a photo would cut through the mess a little bit. Jackpot7@ix.netcom.com if you can email one. 1932 is where you see Bagatelle and pin-table games grow legs and stand on their own, does this pin have good original type legs? If no, then we need to look before this date, if it does then after this date and before 1948 when flippers showed up. You do say it is electrical so we are after 1934. 1934 to 1948, closer all the time. Is it battery or plug in for power? Does it have a back glass, if yes, small or large? A large back glass would move us up close to 1939.

Stop-Stop-Stop

Dennis, I think I found her, could it be made by "Bingo Novelty" and not Bally?? If so we got lucky and I found it by mistake. Take a look at this link and see if this is your little jewel.

Expertise

I am an expert on old coin operated machines, slot machines, trade stimulator's, jukeboxes, old arcade machines, etc. I have been identifying these for people who respond to my web site listed below, for a few years now. In almost all cases I am able to tell them about their old coin operated machines, the year, the value, and other general information about their machines. I do not know much about soda vending machines, coin banks, or scales, but I will try to help you with these if I can. Please email photo's to: jackpot7@ix.netcom.com My web site is at: http://www.coinslots.com

Experience

I bought my first slot machine, a .50 Cent Mills Black Cherry in 1969 and have been hooked from that time, I still have that Slot machine! Before that I found a open barrel full of old scraped jukebox wall boxes behind a restaurant, I wanted them all but never took a one of them. Anything that took a coin drove me nuts!
