Collectibles-General (Antiques)/Sew-Gem machine

Question
I have my grandmothers Sew-Gem model 11-11 with a 1953 date on the manual.  It also has the button holder attachment.  Before I display this in my home, is it of any real value, other that it has been in the family?  I want to put it in the living room but I'm afraid the kids might damage it while playing so it will have to stay in the garage until they get older.

Answer
Rick,
I am not familiar with the Sew-Gem machine.
Sorry I could not be of direct assistance to you.

If your machine is a toy sewing machine, try sending your query to:

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
