Question

20080918_1042.JPG
I have a thimble which I think is Norwegian, possibly made by O.F. Hjortdahl. It's 925 silver and enamel. I attach a photograph and would appreciate your opinion.

Answer
Hello Douglas,
Lovely thimble!  Thanks for sending a clear photo.
Yes your thimble is Norwegian and it is an older one.  It is .925 silver (sterling), has a moonstone top and decorated with enamel.
If you are able to send me a photo of the marks inside of the thimble, I will probably be able to verify the maker for you.
Hope this helps.
