Question
I have a family hand crank sewing machine (I believe to be Singer). I.D. marks on hand crank area HK 10 with a longer number on center metal base # 1436229. ( The 9 may be a zero) Ive been tols it was used by ancient family slaves. I only have pics on my cell phone and will send to your email ASAP. please advise??     mike C.

From your description I believe you are referring to a domestic, our household (full sized) sewing machine.  If so, this is not my expertise, sorry.
