Question

Singer miniature
I'm not sure where this came from, perhaps my mother's home, but I'm wondering if it's a collectible and worth saving, what its approximate value might be.  I love to sew and enjoy displaying this in my home.  I will send a photo to the email address above.

Answer
Hello Susan,
Your little machine dates to the 1950's and it was made by Singer. It also appears to be the SEWHANDY model. This model machines is not rare and it can be found quite often on eBay for instance.
If in excellent condition, box included as well as all other items that were sold with the machine (a clamp for instance) then the value is in the range of $225-$275.

Expertise

I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing. I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.
