About Irene Schwall
Expertise
I have been a collector of antique sewing tools and thimbles for over 30 years. I am also a dealer in this field and sell on eBay under the name -- serengeti2. Please note: I am NOT, and I repeat NOT an expert on antique or vintage domestic household sewing machines used for everyday home sewing -- I can offer help when it comes to TOY or miniature collectible sewing machines ONLY.

Experience
My expertise is in ANTIQUE sewing or needlework tools & thimbles, gold, silver, brass, ivory, bone etc. Modern thimbles are not necessarily my strong point but I may be able to help so don't hesitate to ask. I am also very well versed in the identification of Hallmarks on sewing collectibles.

Question
Hello--
--I am curious about the date of production of this sewing machine; the best that I can narrow it down is between 1897 and 1919. I've seen the advertising fliers, but they do not appear to be dated.
I have this machine and am wondering how common it is. Is it something that a Rockford museum might appreciate?
Thanks!

Answer
Hello Anne,
If your machine is a household or domestic sewing machine, I cannot help you.
My expertise is in antique thimbles and needlework tools as well as toy or small sewing machines.
Please read through prior Q & A's and you will find various links that might be of help to you.  I have provided numerous links to other sites that deal in domestic sewing machines.
Regards,
Irene
