Subject: Pig Merry go Around Animal

Question
I have a solid wooden painted pink pig carousel animal that I have had over
40 years and I know whre it wa s20 years before that .
It is in excellent condition. I live in London and so does the pig. We were told
that that it was English and early/mid 1800's.
I need to sell. Do you have any idea the value of this sort of creature without a
pix? and how I might sell in the US or in the UK?
I can send a pix via post.  Thank you
Diana

Answer
I would suggest that you attempt to find a collectibles dealer in your area.  I have no idea what the carousel market is like in the UK.
Please double check your carving however.  You mention that it was "solid" wood.  Authentic carousel figures have hollow bodies to minimize the weight load on the carousel or roundabout.

Sorry that I can't be of more help to you.

Bruce
