Subject: Value of Antique Carousel Horse
Question I own a fully/professionally restored 1921 wooden Spillman Engineering Carousel Horse jumper. I have a copy of the bill of sale from the original carousel it came from, along with a certificate of authenticity issued by the restorer. Can you give me a ballpark figure of what it may be worth. Also, the best way to try to sell it. Thank you.
Answer As you can imagine, now is not the time to get a good price for your horse. As a rule, Spillman Engineering figures are considered "beginner" pieces. Average Retail in this market would be from $2,500 to $3,500 which is probably less than what you spent for the restoration. If you want to sell it, we offer a an online "Carousel Tag Sale" on the Carousels.com website. You can feel free to list your horse there. Instructions can be found on the Carousels.com website.
