kettle
id like to know more about this kettle i have attached a picture
it has the marks or numbrs of1556 wit the nuber 6 under that   many thanks

It's a teapot. Made in Sheffield, England, around 1860. Made of Britannia metal (a pewter alloy used for raising from sheet, rather than casting). The shininess in the photo suggests it's electroplated.

1556 is just the pattern number. 6 maybe the capacity in Imperial half-pints.
