Question

Gone with the wind lam
I have a gone with the wind lamp and would like to know the maker, possible the artist and value of the lamp. I believe that it was orinally an oil lamp and has now been electrified. It is stamped on the brass "Meriden" and the upper lamp shade is signed what looks to be "Dora". I am attaching a photo. Anything that you could tell me would be much appreciated. Thank you

Answer
It looks like it could have been an original, but the base looks suspect. If the base is not either solid brass or iron, it is probably a reproduction. If the base is pot metal or spelter, it is a reproduction. It is still a nice lamp, though. If original but electrified it is worth $300 to $400. If a reproduction, $150 to $200. Thanks
