Question
Hello,
I have a number of items my grandmother received when she was married in 1905. Among them is a serving with the head of a Gibson Girl in it. I have not been able to find anything out about it but am hoping you might have some information.
Also, I have at least one old plate with the "Old Man of the Mountain" (used to be in NH now gone forever) on it.
Can you give me a ball park figure of what these items might be worth?

Answer
Hi there I regret that these collectibles don't bring in the big bucks as expected by their collectors.  Does the "Gibson Girl" platter have any text on it?

From Kovels:
Gibson Girl black-and-blue decorated plates were made in the early 1900s. Twenty-four different 10 1/2-inch plates were made by the Royal Doulton pottery at Lambeth, England. These pictured scenes from the book A Widow and Her Friends by Charles Dana Gibson. Another set of twelve 9-inch plates featuring pictures of the heads of Gibson Girls had all-blue decoration. Many other items also pictured the famous Gibson Girl.

price range $90-$110

Regards,
Jorge
