Question

Wooden Lamp
My grandmother has this lamp passed on to her from her mother-in-law and my grandfather was told it is very rare and there are only a couple of these in the world.  Can you tell me if that is true and anything else about this lamp?  I couldn't find any markings on it.

Answer
They are not common. I have only seen a picture of one. It is from the Mission era of the 1800s. It is possible that it is a Stickley which makes it extremely valuable. I am not sure of the value, but we are talking thousands of dollars rather than a couple of hundred. So use those terms : Mission furniture, and Stickley (I think the first name is Gustave) to further research).
