Subject: Sewing Stand? Box?

Question
Hello
I would appreciate you telling me what to call this sewing box or stand or something.  Also if you would tell me it's approx value, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Answer
Beverly - Your sewing stand is called a "Priscilla" named after a sewing machine from the early 20th century. The Priscilla was a piece of furntiure that fell into the "novelty" category during the Depression era. Novelty items were small pieces made so that retailers would have something to sell to customes who couldn't afford a new living room set. Items included magazine racks, wall shelves, whatnots and sewing stands.

Your Priscilla would sell at auction for around $50.

Thanks for writing.
