We are dealers in antique coin operated penny scales and parts. We collect antique scales of all types. Bill has been buying and selling scales and mail order penny scale parts since 1983. Jan started collecting small scales of all types in 1977. Our combined collection of antique scales contains over 2200 scales. We are the authors of the book Scales: A Collector's Guide and The revised & Expanded 2nd Edition of Scales: A Collector's Guide. Question
I have a upright floor scale whic states on it "character readings, your wate and fate. Mfg by American Scale Mfg.Co.
Washington,DC. Capacity 300#. I would say in average condition. Has slots for month of birth to enter coin into. Works fine. Can you give me an idea of value please. color is biege with red top.

American scales often sell in the $100-400 range. If you send your name and address to us at i-weigh-u@comcast.net we will send you a parts price list, parts diagram and instructions for your scale. Also send the scale serial number stamped on the step plate.
