Question
I purchased an antique wicker egg basket and it needs to be cleaned and finished or wiped.  What is your suggestions or instructions for this process?

Answer
Thanks for your question,
I would wash the basket with water and just a little soap, then rinse. If it has some dirt in the weave use a very soft brush with the water and support the inside with your hand while you brush. Once cleaned, set it somewhere to dry, a garage or laundry room, not in the sun. Let it dry for several days then using an inexpenseve paint brush, brush on some tung oil or wipe- on poly finish. When it's has dried for a few minutes, wipe off the excess and let it dry acording to the directions. You can also do the inside this way and if you want to do a few coats, just follow directions on the can for recoating.

  Thanks,
 Rob
